ᰔ ฅ՞•ﻌ•՞ฅ Hi girlies!

OMG we’re going to NYC!! 🗽💗 I’ll be there from July 21 to August 15, and we’re planning our Girls on Campus event for either August 2nd or August 9th 🫶🏽

If you’re thinking about coming, please RSVP to help us lock in the final date! It says 18+ but if you’re under 18, you can still register—just make sure to ask your parent or guardian first (it’s just for liability stuff!).

I’ve been chatting with some beauty and cosmetic brands to hopefully secure cute gift bags for attendees 💅 We’ll be charging around $8 for the event later on, so if you sign up now—you’ll get in for free 👀Don’t wait!

This isn’t open to the public yet—just for the GOC community!

Can’t wait to see you there! RSVP link

Advice Column 💌

It really does come down to luck sometimes—but the kind of luck you help create.

In January 2025, I wrote something simple in my Notes app: “I want to have my first in-person event for Girls on Campus.” No location, no budget, no idea how I’d pull it off. I just knew I wanted to create something real—something beyond the screen, where students and professionals could actually meet, talk, and connect face-to-face.

Then, in late February, I got an email out of nowhere. A company reached out to sponsor a webinar. It wasn’t the in-person event I had imagined, but I saw an opening. So I asked if they’d be open to something live, something in person. And to my surprise… they said yes. We talked logistics, shifted the budget, and just a few weeks later—on April 5th—our first in-person Girls on Campus event happened in San Francisco.

That experience taught me something I now fully believe: sometimes it really does come down to luck… but the kind of luck you create by being clear about what you want. I’m not religious, and you don’t have to be either, but I do think there’s power in saying your goals out loud. Whether it’s to God, the universe, your future self, or just your Notes app—naming it matters. I’ve seen things unfold in ways I couldn’t have predicted, simply because I wrote it down or dared to ask.

So if you’re applying to something right now—an internship, a scholarship, a fellowship—remember: you’re not just submitting a form. You’re planting a seed. And your story is what makes someone stop, read, and remember you.

Instead of asking “What do they want to hear?” try asking, “What do I want them to feel about me when they’re done reading?” That shift—showing not just what you’ve done, but why it matters to you—makes all the difference.

You don’t have to know exactly how it’ll happen. But speak it anyway. Write it down. Start with a sentence. That’s where all the magic begins.
