ᰔ Hi girlies! We are back with amazing opportunities!

The newsletter for the girlies with college and career advice!

ᰔ ฅ՞•ﻌ•՞ฅ Hi girlies!

I’m crying—y’all really showed up!

This was our first-ever event, and I’m not going to lie, I had so many moments where I thought to myself: What if no one comes? What if it’s just five people—what am I going to do? I was stressed for a full week before the event. Impostor syndrome was hitting hard. I kept wondering, Who am I to even host something like this? Yes, GOC is big online, but what if it doesn’t actually exist in real life?

But you came. Forty-five of you, plus a few professionals! 🥹💕

So many of you already knew about GOC, and I had the chance to talk to a lot of students—that was honestly my favorite part. Just connecting with you, hearing your stories, and seeing the energy in the room reminded me why this matters.

I had to include a group pic at the end 🫶

A huge thank you to our main sponsor, EssayPro! All the pizza, cheese, salami, and $2 off your drinks wouldn’t have been possible without them!

Make sure to check out their website:

We all look so cute <3

AAlso—we did Polaroids! Not everyone got one, so if you didn’t, I owe you two at the next event 💖 It was so cute seeing you all pose, decorate them, and take them home. We really wanted to give you something to remember the event by!

We’ll definitely have Polaroids at future events too 📸

This first round was made possible by…

You can still get an internships even if it’s outside the timeline

Yes, most industries have a specific timeline to follow, but it really depends on the company—and it can vary for high school students too.

Advice Column 💌

Following up on the last newsletter about the law of attraction—I want you to believe that you will find an internship, whether you're in high school or college.

Here’s some advice on how to find those hidden internships without using LinkedIn or Handshake (which, honestly, I don’t always recommend for internships or programs!).

💡 For high school students:
It’s not that rare to find internships! They’re just often called programs or opportunities with stipends. The same goes for international students—there are options out there.

 My favorite trick?
Go to ChatGPT and type something like:

"My major is [insert major]. I’ve had experience in [list experiences like customer service, Deloitte audit intern, you can also paste your resume, etc.], and now I’m looking for an internship in finance or corporate roles. What positions can I apply to, and can you match me with internships that are currently open through company websites?" Please exclude listings from Indeed, LinkedIn, or Handshake.

I did this with this example “My major is Finance and Accounting. I’ve had experience working at Panda Express and as an Audit Intern at Deloitte. I'm currently looking for an internship in finance or corporate roles. What positions can I apply for, and can you match me with internships that are currently open on company websites only? Please exclude listings from Indeed, LinkedIn, or Handshake.

and this what the response it gave me

Based on your background in Finance and Accounting, along with your experience at Panda Express and as an Audit Intern at Deloitte, you are well-positioned to apply for a variety of internships in finance and corporate roles. Potential positions include Finance Intern, Financial Analyst Intern, Investment Banking Summer Analyst, and Global Finance & Business Management Analyst.Bank of America+4Careers | JPMorganChase+4Careers | JPMorganChase+4

Here are some current internship opportunities available directly through company websites:

  1. Bank of America

  2. Citi

    • Early Career Opportunities: Citi offers a range of programs for students and graduates, including internships and full-time roles in finance and corporate functions. Citi Careers+6Citi Careers+6Citi Careers+6

  3. Ernst & Young (EY)

    • Intern - Strategy and Transactions - Transactions Corporate Finance: This internship involves working with EY's Strategy and Transactions team, providing support in areas like mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. EY Careers

    • Investment Banking Analyst Internship: This nine-week program includes training in accounting fundamentals, financial modeling, and valuation, providing hands-on experience in deals and transactions.

🧠 Follow-up tip: Ask ChatGPT —

“Can you give me keywords to search on Google to find internships like these at other companies (excluding LinkedIn, Indeed, and Handshake)?”
