Hi! I hope all of you had an amazing winter break for those students that are back to school you go it remember that!! this spring semester will go by so fats the technically the summer is already here in a blink of an eye.
This week, we are officially announcing our $500 scholarship! YAY!!!
🏆The winner will receive prizes such as a one-year membership to GradGPT, a one-year membership to Scholarship Collective to help with your scholarship essays or college applications, guaranteed admission to the Pineapple Empower Program (Fall 2025) that can be added to your activity list when applying for college, a professional essay review from a former admission officer at LW Admissions, a physical or digital SAT/ACT guide, and we will cover the SAT fee so you can take the test one more time!!
How does this sound?
This scholarship is open to incoming high school seniors (current juniors) and transfer students transitioning to a four-year university or anyone who will be doing college applications and entering fall 2026.

How to create an elevator pitch
Networking can be very stressful and socially draining. I often find myself just “acting” during networking events. I try to act natural, but also professional and important at the same time. It’s a bit of a balancing act, and I work and practice what I’ll say beforehand to make sure I’m prepared. This is where having an elevator pitch comes in handy.
An elevator pitch is a quick, clear way to introduce yourself and what you do, and it’s incredibly useful in almost any situation. Whether meeting someone new at a networking event or talking to a potential employer, having a well-prepared elevator pitch allows you to make a strong first impression.
Why is it so important? Because in today’s world, you don’t always have a lot of time to explain who you are or what you’re about. An elevator pitch helps you communicate your skills, experience, and goals concisely and compellingly, giving the other person a clear understanding of what you bring to the table.
Having a pitch ready also builds confidence. Knowing exactly what to say when meeting someone new takes the pressure off and lets you focus on the conversation rather than scrambling for the right words. A solid elevator pitch can open up new opportunities, whether it’s for a job, a partnership, or just a meaningful connection.

In- Person and Remote-The Young Empowered Scientists for ContinUed Research Engagement (YES for CURE) Program is a 2.5-year training initiative aimed at underrepresented and disadvantaged high school and undergraduate students who are interested in careers in scientific research. The program offers mentored summer research projects, advanced scientific curriculum during the academic year, and year-round professional skills training.
